□
SPRING 2015
If you’re waitlisted… If you’re rejected…
Follow the requirements the college has
to stay on the waitlist
□ Be proactive!
- Contact the admissions office to
express interest
- But don’t harass them either
- Send updated transcripts
- Be sure to maintain your usual
grades
- Ask for an interview
- Arrange for a new recommendation
letter to send in
- Instead of an academic
teacher, ask a conservatory
teacher, private tutor, or other
mentor figure
□ Remember: it’s okay to feel sad!
□ But also remember you have other options!
□ Did you get into other colleges?
- If so, look to the list to the left!
□ Make a pros and cons list for the college(s)
you weren’t admitted to
- They may have some great aspects,
but there are sure to be negatives,
- It can turn out your dream school
really wasn’t the best fit for you
□ Consider community college
- It’s cheaper
- Get your G.E.s out of the way
- You can always transfer to a university
later
□ Focus on the colleges that have accepted □ Take a gap year
you
- Commit to a college by May 1st,
□ If you do get off the waitlist of the
college of your choice, you can
always cancel your spot at the other
college.
- Give yourself some time to figure out
who you are
- Make some money at a job
- Travel
- Volunteer
□ You can always reapply next year!
