is a comedy/satire
band founded by
vocalist junior Jason
Risdana (CV). Fellow junior OCSAites
are tapped to play
specialists parts:
keyboardist Jake
Ryan (FTV), vocalist
Max Menzies (FTV),
pianist Wyatt Barkley
(CM), vocalist Casey
Brown (CM), vocalist
Ray Saito (CM), and
guitarist and drummer Thor Fay (CM),
the only senior in the
band.
Their only current production is a
cheerfully strange
Christmas album
titled “A Very Merry
Christmas to You.”
Featuring covers of
your favorite Christmas songs, as well as
some newly written
yuletide tracks like
Left to Right: Matt Fyke (non-OCSA student), Chase Walker (CW
‘14), and Randon Davitt (CMC ‘16)
“Yule Log” and an
alternative version of
“Silent Night.”
Risdana said, “I
want[ed] to make
a Christmas album,
and if we don’t make
a Christmas album,
then my life is worth-
less.”
We hope that our
article has sparked
some interest in the
lesser known bands
of school. As with every garage band, every band mentioned
has a cavalcade of
social media pages
should you wish for
updates, show times,
news, and general
band conversation.
So go—support the
local arts by supporting your friends’
bands.

artist eager to tell it.
Senior Kat Garcia stood near her
creations and was
more than happy
to discuss what inspired them. For her
character design
she shared, “I have
one that is basically
a siren mermaid.
Like the girl from the
Starbucks logo. And
then there’s this guy
in mythology that
lives deep in the
sea. And basically,
it’s like him and the
Starbucks logo had
a child together and
then that would be
my design.”
The four surrounding walls had unique
pictures, sketches,
designs and even
videos.
Senior Kevin Dang
(DM) said, “Right
now, we’re focused
on mostly 3-D aspects of entertain-
ment design or DM.
We’re starting on the
basics of conceptualization and storywriting, all the way
down to rendering
playable characters
in worlds that we’ve
created.”
Despite being one
the newest additions
to OCSA’s impressive
list of conservatories,
one would suspect,
given their talent,
that the students
have been in the
program for years.
Dang explained,
“We don’t look for
people who want to
play video games.
We look for people
who want to create
video games and
be part of a growing
and expanding industry and also open
up new doors for this
new industry.”
