OCSA’s Fashion
Club set the stage for
couture and music
on Friday, March 13
in the Webb Theater
at its annual fashion
show. The production, which features
student models, allowed club members
to showcase their
fashion sense through
a mix of purchased
and homemade
pieces.
The show began
with musical numbers
performed by seniors
Raquel Makler (IA)
and Nick Stone (CM).
Afterwards, hosts and
club co-presidents
Gaby Scaringe (IA)
and Michael Wells
(IA/PD) welcomed
in the looks. One by
one, each model
came out to strut
their stuff on the
runway and represent their designer’s
pieces.
Junior Liam Shlakman (CMD) showcased a darker style
through juniors Holly
Lewis (IA) and Nikki
Houston (FTV). His
section of the show
featured models in
striped ensembles
entering mysteriously by dragging
trash bags behind
them. The two held

hands, walked very
plainly and displayed
no emotion as they
advanced down the
catwalk.
Scaringe showcased a more bubbly style through
her models, seniors
Michelle Aquino
(ACT), Callie Brunet
(MT), Kelly Hess (IA),
and Katie Ahmann
(CV). Each outfit
had vibrant colors,
fun textures, and
individual features.
Quirky designs, faux
fur, and emojis were
scattered across the
decorative attire.
Scaringe shared
that her favorite thing
about the show and
Fashion Club is “everyone has their own
personal style and
it’s cool to see them
develop.”
Wells added “this
year we held it in the
Event Center, and I
feel it made it much
more successful because we were able
to create our own
configuration,” he
said, referring to the
catwalk and general
room motif, which
was set up and run
by junior Gabi Morris
(CW). Other production aspects were
supervised by the
final co-president
senior Chelsea Lee
(VA) and maintained by Production
and Design seniors
Haley Cole, Katelyn
Le-Thompson, and
Amanda Lynn.
Fashion Club welcomes members at
any point in the year
to come and express
themselves. Said
Wells, “It’s really a
relaxed environment.
We try to make it a
fun and comfortable
space for people
to come and just
talk about fashion,
or do a DIY, or learn
trends.”
