RUST PAINT FINISH
The wall was painted with Liquid Iron Paint , which contains real iron fillings , to create an authentic looking rust effect .
Instant Rust treatment was applied , which instantly ages to become a weather-beaten rustic finish that looks very Australian .
PLANTS
This is a very low maintenance style garden that is family friendly , which means everyone can spend more time enjoying it than maintaining it !
Plantings were a mixture of Kangaroo paws , Agaves and Xanthoria , which is the Australian native grass tree , Callistemon the Bottlebrush plant , Melaleuca , Agonis flexuosa , Diedes vegeta and Grevillea .
These are all mixed in to create an Australian outback appeal that is rugged and hearty but also abundant in flower and foliage .
The native plants are drought tolerant , which allows for a lush landscape that does not rely too heavily upon water .
A drip irrigation system was installed that comes on for 5-10 minutes , twice a week , and the garden is now thriving . This is a very low maintenance style garden that is family friendly , which means everyone can spend more time enjoying it than maintaining it !
