The pub was doing well and we de-
cided to sell it on to a lovely local
couple so I could fully focus on my
new family and move into a farm of
our own. Mum quickly moved back
into teaching where her heart really
was and took up grandma duties.
On Christmas eve, 2015, sat around
the Christmas tree, Tiny decided to
give me an early Christmas present.
He presented me with a small box
that he had attempted to wrap. Af-
ter unwrapping it, I found a small
box and thought it could only mean
one thing! I opened it eagerly and
was surprised to find a seashell
chocolate. Even though these are
my favourites the disappointment
must have been obvious. One glace
over to Tiny and he couldn’t control
a big cheeky grin, he had in his hand
a ring!
On May 25th, eight days late, little
James arrived on Tinys birthday!
Our family was growing, as was the
farm. 2016 flew by with lots of plan-
ning for the big day! We had decid-
ed on the date of the 9th September
2017 as that was the anniversary of
our first date three years earlier on
my Birthday.
The theme for the wedding was a
clear choice, farming life! We had
our four bridesmaids in beautiful
pale sage dresses that matched the
flowers beautifully. My maid of hon-
our was Michelle alongside my sis-
ter Jo, good friend Bex and soon to
be sister in law Vicky. On the tables
we had rustic log slices, beautiful-
ly created by my dad, Davie, with
quirky green ceramic wellie boots
used as vases filled with the most
gorgeous flowers. The centre pieces
where finished off with small LED
candles and a sprinkling of gems.
We had a few ideas for naming the
tables. We finally decided on breeds
of our sheep. My sister Jo, who’s by
far more creative than me, lovingly
made the table names from wooden
sheep cut outs. The final touch was
the favours. We wanted to keep it
fun and of course to fit in with our
theme. I found a company that made
chocolate farm animals and trac-
tors! They really did finish it all off
wonderfully. As Wendy and I went
around the room, adding the final
touches like fairy lights and balloons
around the windows and a tasty pick
and mix in the porch for the kids, as
well as the big kids, I was complete-
ly taken over with excitement and
couldn’t wait for the big day. The
weather, outside our lakeside venue,
was sunny and calm looking across
the glistening water, however the
forecast was not so good for the fol-
lowing day.
The Morning of the Big Day!
spring time, lambing the sheep and
taking care of, and feeding the tame
lambs. Even from a very young age
Annie’s taken a keen interest in the
animals and was so content sitting in
her pushchair in the lambing shed!
