But change is the reason we are able to restore sight to thousands of people each year in our community and around the globe. Since the first cornea transplant more than a century ago, our world has been shaped by innovations and discoveries that bring new treatments to light – all made possible by the countless individuals who refuse to let blindness prevail. In this issue of Vision, you will read how Eversight and our partners are working together to change the future of sight by advancing knowledge and treatments in powerful ways. And just as technology and medicine are evolving, so is our mission. We have learned that the interconnectedness of donation, transplantation and research is a healing force – one that reaches beyond the gift of sight and brings comfort, hope and inspiration to people when they need it most. I am excited to introduce to you our new mission statement, which celebrates the importance of everything we do: Restoring sight and preventing blindness through the healing power of donation, transplantation and research. I invite you to join Eversight Ohio in making vision a reality in new and exciting ways by engaging in our healing mission.
