Early in February, Cape Town hosted yet another very successful Mining Indaba and we loved being a part of it. We hosted a ‘slow lounge’ for DRA Global, a company that specializes in international project management of mining, infrastructure and mineral process plant design and construction, at their head office in Long Street. DRA hosts an annual breakfast for Mining Indaba with this year being slightly different, as they wanted to showcase their offices and illustrate their unconditional support to their clients. With a stunning view of the harbour, expanding across to Lion’s Head, clients came to enjoy a networking breakfast every morning. Selected guests got to use this space as their sanctuary during the day, where they could just relax with a cup of coffee and some snacks or even lunch. Event Affairs // Events DRA We did a casual yet professional lounge setup in the main boardroom, where daily breakfast events took place. We used lots of texture with mahogany ottomans, glass coffee tables and white & wooden chairs. In the second boardroom, designed around a “cigar lounge” concept, we set up beautiful mahogany chesterfield couches with big, glass coffee tables. We completed the look with scatter cushions in cream with various textures to bring in some warmth. With the predominant male attendance, we kept the floral aspect very gender neutral; black and contemporary vases were filled with Protea’s, succulents and Brunia to create pops of colour and to compliment the masculinity of the event.
