Alessandra, a stunner from Italy, and Joel, a local Cape Town boy, met on New Year’s Eve a couple years ago so when deciding on their wedding date, New Year’s Eve was a no brainer. drama, so much so that Gordon, the Marriage Officer announced that “it was the most magnificent looking bridal party he had ever seen!” once the procession was complete. Waterkloof was also a natural choice for them – with the exquisite view, a menu to die for and the option to party into the wee hours of the morning celebrating both their wedding and New Year’s, there was just no deliberating. Following the ceremony, guests were ushered out onto the grass area for pre-dinner drinks with a view beyond imagination. Elegant, white furniture pieces was strategically placed throughout the lawn where guests relaxed and indulged in the delectable canapes and Sparkling Wine. Alessandra and Joel were very clear about what they wanted and they got just that: beautifully understated whites, sophisticated and elegant style, paired with loads of fun. The ceremony was held in the Cellar with white candles lining the aisle creating an interesting yet romantic feeling to this special occasion. As the ‘walk in’ song began, her gorgeous Italian bridesmaids, adorned in royal blue gowns stunned the guests as they meandered down the aisle. Alessandra, with her Dad by her side, descended to the cellar in the elevator with one of the most breath-taking entrances yet. Created by French chef Gregory Czarnecki this special menu was based on fresh, seasonal ingredients and mainly produced on the Waterkloof estate. The DJ kept the energy of the evening up with crowd-pleasers throughout the night right up until the ultimate NYE count down!
