KRISTI AGIER Kristi Agier Photography EA: What are the most important aspects to look for when choosing a photographer for your wedding? EA: What advice would you give the Bridal couple with regards to photography and their wedding? KA: It’s really important that the couple feels comfortable around me, that way they can show me who they really are which reflects in the images. It’s also important to know the photographers work, their style of shooting and make sure that it is in line with what they are looking for! Overly posed, flashed portraits is not my thing for example, so I would hope not to attract couples looking for that style. Also, a photographer who has shot in many different situations, locations and light especially as that is constantly changing throughout your wedding. Therefore, having a photographer who can manoeuvre through all the intricate lighting scenarios is ideal. My favourite part of the day is the couple shoot – just the Bride and the Groom and some special moments together… For this, I love to shoot within the golden hour, the last light before the sunset so that is really important to factor into the timeline. Getting ready in a nice room with lots of natural light helps, especially if it’s kept tidy! But most importantly and what shows up the most in the pictures is how much fun you are having! So on the day, even if things don’t go exactly according to plan, if there are happy smiles and emotion – the photography will be a success!
