- Gala Dinner - One Thousand and One Voices is a private capital fund that seeks to enhance the best of what private equity investment has to offer in some of the fastest growing regions in Sub-Saharan Africa. This year, the CEO and his Team attended the World Economic Forum held in Cape Town. While they were here, they opted to treat their local shareholders and investors to a unique dining experience. Based in the USA, the majority of their previous events had taken place on home soil – the last was in the chambers of President Lincoln himself! After toying with Robben Island as a venue as well as dinner atop Signal Hill, they went for a more personal touch by choosing De Grendal Wine Estate in Durbanville, a natural choice due to their association with the Graaff family. The event was nothing short of winter elegance with rich Marsala and deep purple tones coming through in the décor. Each guest received a vintage pen as a gift with a personalised thank you note. These pens were sourced from all corners of the world, each one with its own unique story. Guests also received a limited edition Noble Late Harvest, a gift from Lady Sally (of De Grendel) herself. On Arrival, guests were ushered into a warm, inviting enclosed patio where they were treated to French Champagne paired with delicious Canapés while enjoying the sounds of a roaming violinist. From there, guests were guided into the Wine Cellar for a unique Forum Discussion where they were invited to discuss their investment experiences and tricks of the trade. Event Affairs // Corporate Events One Thousand & One Voices Guests were then led up into the restaurant for a delightful 3-course world-class dinner created by De Grendel’s Head Chef, Ian Bergh and his team of amazing staff. Renate, the Venue Manager ensured that no detail was overlooked and together with her amazing team of waiters, provided exemplary service throughout the evening. A solo guitarist provided light background entertainment that was thoroughly enjoyed by all guests. Our Client was so overwhelmed by the friendly and remarkably efficient service here in South Africa, that 1K1V will no doubt be back for round two very soon! [05]
