Where are you from?
I am from Spencer, Indiana
Q2: what do you do for a living?
I am a Registered Nurse for about 18 years now, currently working as a Care Manager in
Indianapolis, Indiana. Care Management can include man y different aspects of healthcare. There
are often decisions to be made as we age and even just getting proper answers to healthcare needs
and knowing where to turn can be overwhelming. Families and individuals often need support
making some of those decisions. Decisions about when care is needed in the home, what living
situations are healthiest for our loved one, questions about illnesses and getting proper care and
questions around dementia are all common dilemmas.
Q3: What kind of path did you travel that led you to where you are today?
I grew up in and married into a lifestyle of abuse. I was abused as a child from a family member,
which I now believe really set the stage for me to marry the wrong type of person. I married and
divorced twice, almost dying from domestic abuse the second time, before I realized that I had no
idea what love really was or how I should expect to be treated by a man. I ended up losing
everything from this second marriage, including the rights to see my children. I felt threatened by
his anger and had no idea how to fight for what I believed in. I wanted to die. I left town, went on
a massive soul search for me and have come out on the other side stronger, wiser and better able
