This year Foundation for Community Network was
a national partner of GOW for the second time.
They promoted YouRock and Skillage among young
people in different events and took part in the week
for high school pupils in Szeged (http://ko7.hu/), in
InDOKK - international event for equal opportunities
and youth - and they also went to secondary
schools, where pupils could try these online devices.
The CEO of TEP
(http://gettep.
com/) did a
presentation for
young people
about the success
of TEP and he also
inspired them
to start an ICT
business. A round-table discussion with experts
from ICT and other sectors in Szent-Györgyi Albert
Agóra, Szeged, also took place.
The campaign organiser delivered a smartphone
training (Telecottage Katedra – Smartphones from
the choice to the administration) mainly tailored for
the elderly.
In addition, GOW16 was also promoted through
“SZÓ-TÉR Egyesület” (local television, Szeged) and
“Civil Hang” Radio (regional radio).

FIT Ltd. organised eNewsletter Information Stands
at a variety of locations and eInclusion training at
Terenure Enterprise Centre.
The highlight of the campaign was the Terenure
Enterprise Centre ‘Connecting our Countries’
event. The event was organised with FIT, the
DCENR (Department of Communications,
Energy and Natural Resources), BITC (Business
in the Community), and BITCNI (Businiess in the
Community Northern Ireland).
The event was a Skype event for senior citizens who
had learned how to use iPads. There were 3 groups
taking part: one in Dublin, one in Bangor (Northern
Ireland) and one in Nottingham (England). The 3
groups spoke to each other and discussed how
learning to use new technologies had improved
their lives. It was uplifting and inspiring to see just
how much it had changed their lives.
