The European Get Online
Week 2016 in Germany
was organized and
coordinated by Stiftung
Digitale Chancen (SDC)
for the fifth time as the
national GOW partner.
The focus this year was
digital inclusion of senior citizens and newcomers.
Together with committed partners SDC many
existing events and workshops were organized
all over Germany. For example a course of eleven
students of the Technical University Dortmund who
organized workshops and promoted the Get Online
Week in Dortmund trained more than 220 people
in one week. Or, with the simple programming
language Scratch two school classes of newcomers
were taught to code. Many people learned about
digital media because Levato supported them in the
fair trade in Mainz. With many videos that explain
the right usage of digital media Levato contributed
to the aims of the Get Online Week. It had been a
very successful Get Online Week 2016 with more
than 3.500 people reached directly.
