Coding events took place in
secondary schools and private
training centers that are
part of the ECDL (European
Computer Driving Lincence)
network of training centers. The
activities included a very brief
introduction to the SCRATCH
Programming Language and then
the students were involved and
engaged in developing code for
a game.
A major activity of the week was the organization
of the first round of the national competition
on informatics for gymnasium students which is
organized based on the BEBRAS standard. 350
students participated to cultivate and enhance the
problem solving, analytical and algorithmic skills.
An activity on informing parents and teachers about
the children safety on the web were delivered by
Mr. Urban Schrott, Security and Cyber Crime expert
of ESET Ireland. The renowned speaker provided
practical advice and safety tips for kids (of all ages)
online dangers. The employability tools Skillage.
Eu and YouRock.Jobs were promoted and made
available to students.
CZECH REPUBLIC

Czech Safer Internet Centre organized the Czech
version of the campaign this year. One of the
campaign highlights was a workshop for young
people about IT skills, programming and coding.
Participants were able to test programming in
TouchDevelop, and they could compare it to Scratch.
Also Safer Internet Centre launched a campaign to
motivate young people to take the Skillage test. The
campaign reached over 300 people through social
media profiles and websites.
iSejf competition was directed at teenagers to make
them more aware of the online safety, this time by
connecting literature and Shakespeare in particular
with the online world.
