FILIA JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL, LESVOS, GREECE

Our school is a very small one! It has only 31 students and 12 teachers. It is situated in a village in the north mountainous area of Lesvos, our island. The building is an old, traditional house which was renovated a few years ago.

Most of the students at the school take part in the project, because they thought it was a great idea to get in touch with students from other countries. They live either in the village of Filia or they take the bus to get to school from other villages like Anemotia or Skalochori.

Marion-Dönhoff-Gymnasium, NIENBURG, GERMANY

Our school is nicely situated: It's right next to a lovely pond, but also at a short walking distance to Nienburg's city centre.

There are about 1,100 students and about 80 teachers at our school. Students attend our school from grade 5 (i.e. after having finished four years of elementary school) to grade 13. In grade 13 they take their final exams which enable them to study at university.

We are 23 students from grade 11 participating in this project, and, apart from being native speakers of German, we learn English and Spanish.
