Adidas and Puma

The German brands Adidas and Puma are known for their sport products like sneakers, clothes and swimwear.

Their history begins with the two brothers Adolf and Rudolf Dassler, they manufactured sneakers for footballers and runners at home and in 1924 they opened their own company.

They got more and more known. Later, during WW II, their factory was used for the production of tank denfense weapons.

After the war, while producing shoes again, the brothers had an argument and their ways separated.

Rudolf Dassler founded the company Puma in 1948 with the typical lettering and a puma above it. One year later, his brother founded the company Adidas with their known pattern of three white lines. Later on the companies began to also sell sportswear.

Today Adidas's sale is about 21,2 billions and Puma's about 4,135 billions. The brothers stayed in dispute till their deaths; still today the reason for their dispute is unknown.
