Visibility of eTwinning Projects Group July 2014 Newsletter -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------You need wi-fi in your classroom - a router is a fantastic option. My students used their own devices, so parents of my students helped them to personalize tablets. They also have each a google account and a gmail account, because I asked parents to create them for their children. We could communicate and students could send me everything we made during lesson. First we established rules. Children helped me to write them down, and this was very important both for me and for my students. They treat rules as their own choice and responsibility. It was easier for me to expect that all rules are respected. Lessons with tablets are so interesting and exciting that no one broke any rule. We install apps from Google Play and use only free apps. There are many apps created for educational purpose but also to relax and play. It is great that tablets are not any mystery for my students. They are familiar with mobile technology and I also learnt from them. If someone found any good app, he or she used to tell me about it. I could check the app at home and think if I can use it during lessons to obtain any pedagogical objectives for the topic. We also used tablets while running our eTwinning project “Eyes - Mirrors of the World”. And it was great, because sometimes it was difficult to organize lessons in the computer lab at school. I could work on the project any time I wanted. If you want to start working with tablets in the classroom, you must remember that tablets are not PC computers. It helped me a lot at the beginning. I love tablets because they let me organize lessons out of the classroom – in the park, in the forest… we can take pictures, make movies, then we can create posters and upload them on the web to learn about the topic at home. 100% of the students are 85
