Fashion Name: Glamyr

Designers: Kelly & Gwen Holmes

Gwen always had an interest in sewing and crafting. Ever since she was young, she would sew her own clothing and accessories. She also created jewelry and purses, for herself and others as well. No matter where and when she went to school or work, she always made time to sew fashion. When her daughter, Kelly, was born, it seemed Gwen's fashion and crafty drive passed onto her.

When Kelly was a little girl, she'd put together outfits for school. She learned to make her own jewelry in elementary school. Kelly always found herself sketching dresses and gowns in her workbooks. She dreamed of owning her own business. Upon entering high school, she learned to sew and design.

In 2007, Kelly decided to team with her mother and start a fashion line. Since every line needs a business name, Kelly thought of the word ‘Glamyr’. It was created when Kelly thought of the word ‘glamour’ and how their fashion line name should be unique. When the business started, they worked through referrals of friends and clients. It wasn’t until the beginning of 2011 that Kelly and Gwen launched their website, which contained an online portfolio. Glamyr specializes in custom work along with unique, one of a kind design in very small quantities.
