Dental CAD / CAM SERIES

CAD / CAM technology and materials are totally changing the dental laboratory business directly and the practice of dentistry indirectly and directly . This exciting new area of dentistry offers a distinct new skilled career opportunity for individuals looking for a change . This program series will prepare it ’ s participants to enter into this exciting and lucrative new career .

Part A- “ Introduction to Dentistry ” ( Lecture and Demonstration Format ) ( mandatory program for all participants with little or no dental background )

Learning how to communicate in dentistry . The purpose of this program is to educate individuals with limited or no dental background in the language of dentistry . Understanding dental terminology is a mandatory first step when considering a career in dentistry .

Part 1- “ Introduction to CAD / CAM Dentistry ” ( Lecture and Demonstration Format ) This first program will cover all technologies and materials used in CAD / CAM dentistry . A thorough understanding of all the components and how they inter-relate is an essential foundation for future training . Participants will view demonstrations and be provided examples of outcomes .

Part 2- “ Introduction to Design and Manufacturing ” ( Lecture , Hands-on and Demonstration Format )

Learn how to scan models and impressions , design , sinter , and finish single unit restorations . Learn the limitations of various ceramic and metallic restorations and gain actual hands-on experience . The goal will be to get participants started designing and using technologies , materials and techniques used in the fabrication , coloring and the finishing of simple restorations .

Part 3- “ Intermediate Design and Manufacturing ” ( Lecture , Hands-on and Demonstration Format )

Learning a new technique or procedure requires an incremental approach to learning witch also includes hands-on and practice . This part of the series will include more complex and challenging restorations . Multiple unit restoration including full contour , frameworks , milled provisional restorations and the use of a digital articulator .

Part 4- “ Advanced Design and Manufacturing ” ( Lecture , Hands-on and Demonstration Format ) Learn the process and design of even more advances and demanding restorations . It will include full arch restorations , replication , Implant abutments , and implant restorations . It will also expand on achieving a higher level of esthetic results with advanced coloring and finishing techniques .
