from THE EDITOR www.estate-living.co.za FOUNDER/CEO Jaimé-Lee Gardner PARTNER/ EDITOR IN CHIEF Louise Martin FINANCIAL MANAGER Adrienne Vorster Another year bites the dust, and as I write this Editor’s Letter, I am inclined to sit back and ponder on 2016 (although briefly, as deadlines are looming). Upon reflection, I realise that the number of words allocated to me are insufficient to list the smorgasbord of failures that I have experienced over the year, most of course accounted for in the parenting and home management departments. My family is moving into the teenage years − need I say more? However, I choose to view my spectacular failures as lessons learnt, and rather celebrate the equally bountiful successes. This could be a naive way of thinking − or the type of thinking that gets you through the tough times and leads you to victory − #TrumpStyle. For the property and related industries, business is booming. The KwaZulu-Natal North Coast is testament to that. The unlocking of the Sibaya Coastal Precinct by Tongaat Hulett Developments has brought a surge of investment into the area. In the North West province, Pecanwood Estate and Pecanwood Golf and Country Club have undergone a shift in ownership and management, an upward move that will give current and future homeowners greater returns on their investments. Celebrating its tenth birthday, St Francis Links continues to house one of the best golf courses in South Africa, and with several prime real estate opportunities becoming available on the estate, the swallows are flocking. As the summer holiday approaches and we all get ready for some R&R, I wish everyone a happy and festive holiday. For the parents with teenagers, schools start again in five weeks!
