From the editor Putting this month’s issue together has been a bit of a wake-up call for all of us here at Estate Living. We’ve had to reseach, write about and think about issues that most of us would rather deal with … aftermorrow. Contemplating old age and death can be scary – especially if we focus on the negative – but it can also be liberating. Accepting our own mortality has the unexpected advantage of reminding us how precious our time on this lovely blue-green planet is, and it also reminds us of how we fit into our communities and families, and how important they are to us.
