a complete Science Lab. There were
classrooms for our youngest students
that included napping cots, rooms
with moveable desks, and others with
color-coordinated tables, chairs, and
storage units. The items that did fit into
a complete classroom were grouped
and the receiving school was thrilled to
receive a storage piece for their music
room, a new table for the cafeteria, a
new teacher desk, and miscellaneous
pieces for multiple classrooms.
The New Orleans chapter of the
U.S. Green Building Council partnered
with EDspaces to deliver truckloads
of school furniture and equipment
products valued at $130,000 donated
by 32 exhibiting companies to children
in need following the event.
One vendor, Ergotron, was unable
to donate items from the EDspaces exposition but wanted to get involved in
the chapter’s green schools initiatives.
We connected them to a local school
and they are shipping 30 new fit desks
to a middle school this coming January!
The teacher and her students will be
the first school in the state to try these
new standing desks designed to keep
students more physically active in the
classroom. There will be an ongoing
&V
