Each year, Doors Open Toronto
provides public access to many
of the city’s historic buildings
and otherwise hidden spaces.
Visitors and residents can tour
rarely seen heritage architecture
like the defunct lower Bay subway
station, the palatial R.C. Harris
Water Treatment Plant and
Osgoode Hall, one of the city’s
oldest buildings. Osgoode Hall is
home to the court of appeal for
Ontario, the Superior Court of
Justice and the Law Society of
Upper Canada, and is rarely seen
by the general public. Chat with
Doors Open volunteers to learn
about this significant space,
and don’t forget to snap a picture
when you don legal robes in one
of the courtrooms.
