and his family are relaxing with their favourite movies,
concert footage or sports.
Meridian says its Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
Technology is responsible for the delivery of pristine,
hi-resolution audio demanded by integrators, seeking
to create exceptional media rooms. In this particular
open plan living area, three DSP520’s are located right,
left and centrally beneath the screen. The ultra-narrow
box design of the DSP520’s ensured an easy in-wall fit
without impacting the visual aesthetic of the interior.
The perforated steel grilles of the loudspeakers are
painted to blend seamlessly with the coffee-coloured
wall panelling used in this space. Meanwhile, to create
an authentic surround experience, Ketos fitted the rear
speakers within the ceiling, aligning discreetly with the
curving flow of the house.
These Meridian loudspeakers contain a complete,
matched audio system with efficient DSP crossovers,
multiple DACs and driver-specific amplifiers, giving
higher overall quality, less power use, and improved
performance. Each DSP520 delivers a maximum output
level of 115dB, a strong option for creating a cinema-
like experience in this type of application. Featuring
Enhanced Bass Alignment (EBA) that ensures perfectly
timed music playback, as well as Centre Image Elevation
technology, the client has lifelike and spacious sound,
every time. Two Meridian DSW DSP sub-woofers add
deep and impactful bass.
Meridian says the G65S Surround Controller is
the perfect partner for this type of project, offering
Meridian Room Correction (MRC) to ensure perfect
audio clarity and resolution to deepen the immersive
experience. Partnered with the HD621 HDMI Audio
Processor, the G65’s input capability accommodates
the widest range of audio and video sources, as well
as multiple outputs for both passive and DSP-based
systems. Programmable lip-sync delay ensures that the
family never miss out on properly synchronised sound
when watching their favourite movies, whilst the unique
Meridian High Resolution up-sampling offers the best
possible audio performance.
Meridian also features elsewhere in the property. The
homeowner’s love for music is reflected in a separate
purpose-built listening room where Meridian’s 808
Signature Reference CD Player takes centre stage.
This unit generates a faithful rendition of the client’s
music collection, with both analogue balanced and
unbalanced outputs and a specially selected ROM drive.
The signal path includes proprietary error correction and
concealment, reducing jitter, and unique DSP upsampling
technology. Finished in satin silver, the 808 allows the
listener to hear depth in the recording and become
immersed in the true audio experience.
The Zlin project was completed in Spring 2017 after a
five year construction period.
