Essential Install | Home Automation Apps The RTiPanel app controls all connected electronic systems via the RTI control system With Total Control 2.0 installers can personalise their URC system The RTiPanel app provides homeowners with complete control over all of the connected electronic systems via the RTI control system. Allowing users to utilise their smartphones, tablets, and PC’s virtually anywhere in the world ensures their lighting, security, AV, and climate systems are never out of reach. Providing the convenience that consumers crave, complete integration with the complete line of RTI control handheld and in-wall controllers provides an intuitive, consistent interface across all of the devices. The RTiPanel has a completely customisable interface, allowing the control experience to be made specifically for each homeowner’s needs and tastes. For ease of use, the app can display in both portrait and landscape views by simply rotating the mobile device, and features fast connection speeds for quick access. Through its Integration Partner Program, RTI offers two-way driver integration with electronic systems across the spectrum, allowing users to easily operate even the most sophisticated home systems using the RTiPanel app, while giving integrators everything they need to efficiently integrate any electronic device into one powerful ecosystem. The company has compiled a large library of two-way drivers of today’s most popular devices. These include thermostats from Aprilaire, ecobee, and Nest; Bose and Sonos audio solutions; Sony, LG and Sharp video displays; Yamaha and Marantz AV receivers; Lutron lighting control systems; Kwikset door locks; DoorBird doorbell systems and GE security systems. The RTiPanel app provides simple configuration and complete customisation through RTI’s Integration Designer APEX software, enabling integrators to provide their clients with a consistent user interface experience across all of their control devices — eliminating the need to learn how to use another controller — or a unique interface designed to set their device apart. The backbone of RTI’s control and automation solutions, Integration Designer APEX, saves integrators valuable time with features such as automatic generation of the graphical user interface, multi-room programming and advanced graphic resizing. AWE throws its home automation system into the ring with the launch of Total Control 2.0 from URC. “Total Control 2.0 is a dramatic step forward in controls, the biggest and most substantial platform upgrade since its launch,” says Mal Fisher, chief technical officer at AWE. “It brings much greater flexibility, a more attractive aesthetic and faster, higher performance operation to create a significantly better user experience. Combined with its series of recent hardware innovations, this comprehensive software update puts URC streets ahead of the controls competition.” Featuring a full graphical update, a new user interface and advanced logic, Total Control 2.0 enables installers to put homeowners in charge of their home with a seamless, intuitive and versatile solution. With Total Control 2.0, installers can personalise their URC system using a fully customisable colour scheme. They can also add attractive images to help define scene and background settings. Either single devices or scenes can take preference on the interface to meet the individual needs of homeowners. Up to 100 scenes can be pre- programmed for immediate access to a specific command. Total Control 2.0 also boasts much faster speeds for both installers and end users, with downloading to the system, loading new programming and response time all vastly improved. Installers can also make adjustments and edits much more quickly and simply, and pollinate across different control devices in the house with ease. As well as substantial end user benefits, URC is directly increasing the opportunities for installers with Accelerator 2.0, its new software development platform. Featuring advanced logic, very specific and complex statements can be programmed. By incorporating ‘if’, ‘and’, ‘then’ and ‘or’ commands, the system becomes more in tune with the life of the homeowner. In-built scheduling for commands on a specific time or date increases the level of autonomous directives completed by the system. Stuart Tickle, managing director of AWE adds, “The team at URC have done a great job – I love it and am sure installers and consumers will too. Total Control 2.0 is the single, most substantial update to any product range I can recall.” More Information: Ivory Egg 01243 572 700, ivoryegg.co.uk Crestron 0845 873 8787, crestron.eu Orbitsound 0207 294 7332, orbitsound.com Habitech 01256 638 500, habitech.co.uk Control4 01347 812 300, control4.com RTI +1 952 253 3100, rticorp.com AWE 01372 729 995, awe-europe.com 58 | October 2017
