Essential Install | Flatscreen TVs & Monitors Sony offers the new A1 OLED Loewe’s clever and unique customisable Home Screen makes control simple Sony’s latest offering into the sector, also available through Invision UK, is the Bravia FWD-A1, also an OLED product. It produces very good contrast on an OLED 4K HDR TV with 8 million self-emitting pixels. Sounds and vision combine in an innovative way on this set as, the audio comes direct from the screen itself acting as the main driver. Sony adds that the pictures are amazingly real with the deepest blacks, providing detailed shadow expression and vibrant colour, to go with the audio, tying the viewer very close to both. Invision says Sony’s professional range offers a combination of excellent picture quality with great professional features. New to the range is the A1 OLED. With over 8 million self-illuminating pixels, the OLED series brings a signifi cantly enriched visual experience with high-quality black levels, lifelike colour, dynamic contrast, blur-less image and a wide viewing angle. Mike Somerset, marketing manager for Sony TV says, “The sleek design of the A1 allows the TV to be placed anywhere in the home without diminishing the look of the home, and with its stand-less design the consumer can focus just on the screen, so whether you use a wall bracket or set it on a desk, the minimalist glass screen is the focal point. A cover at the back of the screen keeps cables tidy and hidden for easy cable management.” “You can use an IR blaster with your TV to control other devices in your home with your Sony remote, so there’s no need for hundreds of remotes, or use voice to search for content through the remote to eradicate the hassle of time-consuming text entry,” he continues. “The remote uses the power of Google search through Android TV so consumers can say “romantic comedies” and receive a list of content suggestions across different services.” Distributor AWE, another key Sony distributor, is also a big fan of the A1 series and its vibrating screen tech, Acoustic Surface technology, designed to unite sound and vision like never before. The upcoming Autumn AWE Smart Home Expo provides a fantastic opportunity to see its available screens up close. Leading the screen display will be the impressive 100in Sony ZD9 4K HDR TV. The ZD9 provides picture quality alongside design, whilst delivering on size. The ZD9 will be complemented by the Sony A1 OLED. Elsewhere in the newly refurbished show apartment, visitors will see the Panasonic EZ1002 Master OLED TV and the Samsung QLED screens. Bound to attract attention is the LG 65in SIGNATURE OLED TV W, known as The Wallpaper Screen, which is distributed by AWE as well as Invision. Loewe will be showing its bild 5 OLED screen at the expo which is fully controllable, 4K HDR, has a customisable homepage and a uniquely modular design. The OLED screen produces a picture that looks just as luxurious as the TV itself. 2017 has been a busy year for the premium German TV brand. Three new TV ranges have been launched, the fl agship bild 9, modular bild 5 and entry level bild 3. All ranges feature the very latest OLED technology, Loewe’s proprietary software platform including IP control, and a fresh design direction orchestrated by Loewe’s new creative director Bodo Sperlein. Since being taken over by specialist engineering VC outfi t Stargate Capital in 2014, the objections that had stopped many installers specifying the brand have been resolved. Loewe TVs have always been a fi rm favourite with interior designers and now reliability, the availability of certifi ed IP drivers for leading control brands, and some neat software features are seeing the brand’s revival in the custom install sector. exclusive Prime suPPort warranty 3 year advanced replacement INvIsIoN Are soNy’s AuthorIsed CedIA dIstrIbutIoN PArtNer | 01359 270280 | www.InvisionuK.com 46 | October 2017
