EI spoke exclusively with Alex Capecelatro , co-founder and CEO of next generation voice led automation platform , Josh . ai , to find out what plans the US based company has for spreading the word on its innovative solution .
So what exactly is Josh . ai ?
Josh . ai is a whole-home automation system focused on natural user inputs such as voice control . We developed our own natural language understanding ( NLU ) engine , a full suite of user interfaces for mobile , tablet and web devices and deep integration with many of the popular smart home devices . Further , Josh . ai is an AI ( Artificial Intelligence ) company with a long-term vision of building a truly intelligent home . The language processing piece is the culmination of five years of development and the company was formed in 2015 . We have offices in Los Angeles and Denver , started shipping at CEDIA last year and we focus on the high-end residential market .
Is Josh . ai available in the UK / Europe ?
Josh . ai is not currently available outside the US . We are exploring UK / EU regulation and privacy laws before we will be able to ship internationally .
What is special about the platform ’ s approach ?
Voice offers a paradigm shift in how we communicate with our homes . It is fast , it is efficient , it is liberating . That said , most other forms of voice control on the market separate the voice input and the control layer , essentially forcing the voice command to trigger a pre-existing scene or button .
