Essential Install | EI Live! Preview Habitech will welcome the Arcam brand to its family at the show WyreStorm will be well represented at the show uControl is the company’s whole-home AV control system, available at no additional cost, no additional hardware and no special programming training course required. The App is included free with MHUB 4K PRO matrix models. This is made possible via a link with the HDA Cloud and integrated patent-pending IP2IR technology. Setting up uControl requires no programming, there is no network searching and no complex confi g. Intelligent button layouts mean that the uControl interface will redraw itself depending on the device being used. For example, if you are using a small mobile phone then uControl will display only the most important controls, whereas a large tablet will have them all. It can also be personalised with user-settable zone background images. Also new is The Installer Network which offers a platform through which companies can market their installation company, its services and past projects, directly to end-users living within thirty miles of a company’s location. The Installer Network is designed to make installers more visible to individuals actively seeking to have an HDA system installed. Visitors will be able to visit the ‘HDA Cube’ for a live demo of brand’s newly updated RMS and see the remote management tools available via the HDA Cloud. To be entered into the draw to win the wrap, installers will be asked to perform three tasks via the RMS and to successfully add a new source device into a uControl system. Access the HDAYWHERE Cube through Stand 8. Check out more detail on HDANYWHERE’s offering on page 66 of this issue. Habitech is planning a big show, check out the dedicated editorial on this on pages 16-17. However, the headline stuff is the company’s big announcement that it is to enhance its home cinema offering with the addition of the Arcam brand to its line- up. Included in the new profi le will be ARCAM’s ‘FMJ’ range of stereo and AV receivers, processors, players and power amplifi ers, which Habitech says provides integrators with the opportunity to unite versatile power with the latest processing technologies for seamless UHD AV in virtually any environment. Combined with quality playback, all FMJ control products have the ability to integrate with home automation systems through drivers for Crestron and C4. The other big announcement at the show will be the opportunities presented by the Simple Control platform the latest addition to the company’s ProNet group of brands. Simple Control is a cloud-based control system communicating over Wi-Fi using IP and Habitech believes it has a huge future delivering very simple control of many products including the Amazon Alexa platform. Simple Control is designed to work over an ‘open’ App- based environment on iOS phones and tablets, using IP control functionality that already exists. Making use of the growing number of products with an IP address, the system connects over Wi-Fi to the cloud via a control App bringing disparate products together. IP, serial and IR libraries provide pre-loaded and pre-designed graphics, protocols and control codes for tens of thousands of devices. Working with other Habitech brands such as networking specialist Ruckus and through IFTTT Applets, the distributor says it can bring Alexa voice control skills to any system. Ultimately, the aim of Simple Control is to simplify the whole process of creating a whole house automation system and offer remote access to boot. Other Habitech highlights will include Wyrestorm’s new H2x line. A step-up from previous H2 range, H2X includes both 16x16 and 10x10 models, with HDBaseT outputs distributing 2160p transmissions at 4:2:0 8-bit @ 60Hz or 4:2:0 10-bit HDR (BT.2020) @ 24Hz to the new super-slim H2X balun for full compatibility with the latest 4K UHD content, source and display devices. Both Wyrestorm H2X models provide full-range 4K UHD HDMI 2.0 inputs and mirrored HDMI 2.0 outputs, expanding their 4K distribution capabilities to 16x16+16 (MX-1616- HDBT-H2X) and 10x10+10 (MX-1010-HDBT-H2X). Qmotion’s innovative wireless shade designs will also be on show offering long battery life (up to fi ve years). Just like a spring-assisted garage door, the energy is shared between raise and lower for a smooth, effi cient, near-silent action. See it all on Stands 34-42. A big part of the show is always the AWE village which will be located on Stands 51-55, 58-60 and 65. One of the highlights of the show will be a range of new products from the Denon Heos platform. These will include the new HEOS Bar, described as a superb soundbar that delivers exceptional performance, and HEOS Subwoofer. AWE will also showcase the unique HEOS AVR, which provides the ability to deliver a surround sound experience without many of the usually associated cables.
