Invision Launches Five Year
Replacement Warranty
Across RTI Range
Peace of mind is always valuable in any business. However, in an
industry where reliability and protecting against possible future
dents in profi tability is absolutely paramount, like in the smart
home sector, any help in this area is a welcome boost.
Invision has added to its expansion and support plans
which have seen the company grow its footprint in recent
years with a brand new initiative aimed at installers of the
RTI home automation platform. Invision is now to offer a
full fi ve-year warranty program on all RTI products. The
warranty program is available to RTI Specialist dealers
and has been created to back-up the distributor’s belief
that RTI is the most stable and reliable control platform
available anywhere in the smart home market.
David Meyerowitz, category manager from Invision
UK explains: “Invision UK have 10 years of experience
distributing RTI products under our belt. With this decade of
living with the system day in day out, we are fully confi dent
that RTI is the most stable and reliable control platform
available. We are so sure in this belief, that we are prepared
to back this up by offering our RTI Specialist dealers with
this new fi ve-year replacement warranty program.”
Any system installed after the company has registered
for the scheme is covered. Exact details of registration
and all terms and conditions can be found on Invision’s
website (http://invisionuk.com/RTI-ProjectReg/).
The RTI platform is also celebrating 25 years in
business this year and aims to continue to produce
innovative handheld remote controls and automation
experiences across its expanding portfolio. Invision UK
continues to offer full product and programming training,
with full details available via the Invision UK Training
Academy (www.invisionuk.com/training).

RTI Development
As well as offering this new level of support and peace of
mind, the RTI brand has continued to develop its offering
from a technical point of view as well. As video intercom is
increasing in popularity and sophistication, RTI is keeping
pace with the recent introduction of the functionality for
select RTI controllers and third-party intercom-enabled
devices. The new offering is a particularly strong option
for front door access, security gates, intra-offi ce and room-
to-room applications, allowing users to communicate from
point to point via their RTI devices.
RTI’s video intercom capabilities are supported on the
KX3, KX7 and KX10 in-wall touch panels, the CX7 and the
upcoming CX10 countertop/under-cabinet touch panels,
as well as RTI’s fl agship T3x which offers the maker’s fi rst
video intercom-enabled handheld controller.
Via a free fi rmware update, dealers can also take
advantage of video communications on compatible
devices that support H.264-based video intercom via
SIP. These devices also support auto answer or ‘do not
disturb’ modes, while a push-to-talk audio mode lets users
communicate via voice only from device to device.
“The demand for intercom continues to increase and we
are pleased to add video functionality across a range of RTI
devices,” says Mike Everett, vice president of global sales
for RTI. “Our line-up of video intercom-enabled controllers
includes wired and wireless interfaces, which allows our
dealers to offer their clients convenient communications
between their RTI devices and third-party door stations.”
“Door entry is a new area for RTI and for many CI
dealers,” adds David Meyerowitz. “IP based door entry
solutions have opened the door for CI dealers where
traditionally the security contractor would have dealt
with this. Door entry is a valuable revenue stream and
with the addition of the SIP video and audio integration
from RTI and our partnership with Comelit, installers can
offer an end-to-end automation and entry solution for
their customers.”
On the hardware side, products that
support the new video intercom function
like the KX10 in-wall and CX10 countertop/
under cabinet user interfaces both
feature larger fully customisable 10in LCD
touchscreens along with direct control
options and HD video capabilities via
the HDBaseT video input. The CX10 is
designed for fl exibility, enabling it to
be set on a countertop or inverted and
mounted under a cabinet with a wide
tilt range to provide fl exibility of
viewing angle.
