GASTRONOMY

Dominican cuisine has a variety of Dominican dishes, from soups and stews to fried sandwiches and sweet coconut desserts. Beyond the classic Caribbean dish of rice and beans, there are other specialties exclusive to the Dominican Republic. Most Dominicans will start their day with Mangú, a typical Dominican breakfast dish made of mashed green bananas, and red onions cooked in a vinegar sauce, cheese, fried salami and eggs.

There are plenty of other native Dominican dishes to discover on your culinary adventure throughout the island.
