A late lunch at Marina Grande - a family owned beach front restaurant. A true gem with a friendly and authentic atmosphere and a beautiful beach view. I still dream of the seafood pasta, based on locally sourced and organically produced ingredients. We ended it all with a cup of my favourite Italian ice cream, Nocciola, from Pasticceria Savoia taking in the last afternoon sun on the cathedral’s steep steps.

Shines bright like a diamond - Amalfi in the evenings. Once dawn has settled in, the white houses climbing onto the mountains gives Amalfi a white beautiful shimmer, contrasting to the grey mountains and the deep blue sea. This is the time to stroll along the short board walk and visit the beach. It is also the perfect time of the day to take some magic sunset photos! We ended the evening at the local favorite, Il Teatro. Another family owned restaurant with the entire family still working. No extras in terms of design, but great pasta, lovely atmosphere and if you are into football this is the place to be. Hanging out with locals is one of the best things you can do when traveling!

After a good night sleep and a breakfast at our small hotel rooftop, it was time to visit one of the best beach clubs on the Amalfi Coast. Escaping the crowds before they arrived.

Five minutes from the town center we found Santa Catarina, a 5 star luxury hotel. A truly dramatic creation, basically hanging out over the sea on a cliff. A traditional hotel mixing traditional style and antique elements with some modern elements. It is easy to get lost in all rooms and corridors but it is the spectacular view from the many terraces that will take your breath a way. Even the elevator down to the beach club offers a magnificent view.

We had a peaceful and luxury day here in our sun beds on the rock platform tucked in between the deep blue see and the steep cliff. The scenery was just stunning and the service truly 5 star.

We ended our two days in Amalfi with a romantic evening. Dinner under the lemon trees at Pizzeria Donna Stella. A true hidden gem just a block away from our boutique hotel offering delicious pizza and wine. Next morning we said goodbye to Amalfi, continuing our journey to our next stop, Ravello. Another picturesque village with the most breathtaking view on the Amalfi Coast if you ask me!

Our two Amalfi days turned out to be truly great! I can strongly recommend a stop at here as part of your Amalfi Coast road trip. Just make sure to escape the town daytime. It is in the evenings, Amalfi shines bright like a Diamond!
