You might remember the names Sakon Yamamoto and Aguri Suzuki if you’re a Formula One fan. In London, you can reacquaint yourself with them both. If not, you’ll be happy to hear the Aguri and Yamamoto will join forces again for what promises to be an exciting round of the London ePrix.

The Japanese driver has been selected by team Amlin Aguri for the final rounds of the first Formula E season. His Formula One career was neither long nor fruitful but competing at the highest level deserves respect. In total, Yamamoto competed in the 2006-07 and 2010 seasons in F1 for Super Aguri, Spyker and HRT, with stints in GP2, Super GT, Formula Nippon, F3 Euroseries, and German/All-Japan/British F3.

This will be the second time Yamamoto will be in the cockpit of a Formula E SRT_01E as he tested the car before the Miami ePrix. He must have liked it as he’s making the jump from TV analyst to racer in Battersea Park.

Yamamoto takes over from Antonio Felix da Costa who will instead, be hooning his BMW DTM around Norisring.
