Liuzzi was classified 14th and his team-mate and Trulli team boss 12th.

D’Ambrosio finished 5th – the only point scorer for Dragon Racing, Sarrazin’s 7th place was Venturi’s best result of the season so far. Venturi’s home race was further sweetened by Heidfeld’s inherited 10th place (1 point) after Scott Speed energy infringement was penalised. Pic was initially classified 9th but was moved

up to 8th place (4 points) for his first ever points in this series.

“I underestimated a little bit the track. Most of the tracks overtaking wasn’t that much of an issue. I thought that maybe Monaco, because a lot of people would be coasting and saving energy, we could try to overtake, but it was a little bit harder. I did manage to take a car in the beginning of the race, but I think people were more

relaxed and in saving mode”, said Piquet Jr.

Vergne - despite being tangled in the first lap incident - stayed in the race and although he finished out the points, used his FanBoost to good effect and set the fastest lap of the race. This netted him not only 2 valuable points for Andretti FE team but also the inaugural Visa Fastest Lap trophy.
