Kevin Estre will be swapping Woking silver for Stuttgart white when he joins Porsche at the 6 Hours of Spa next month.

Estre (a factory McLaren GT driver for VonRyan Racing in the Blancpain Endurance Series) will be on Porsche duties for the next round of the World Endurance Championship at Spa-Francorchamps on the 2nd of May.

The former Porsche Carrera Cup driver, will compete in GTE Pro, joining Sven Muller in the #91 factory Manthey-run 911 RSR.

"The Porsche one-make cups paved my way to a professional racing career, so I'm extremely pleased that the Porsche Manthey team have put their trust in me”, said Estre.

It will be a Stuttgart juggling act of sorts, as Porsche’s United SportsCar Championship entry will have to do without Nick Tandy (who drove in LMP2 for KCMG at Silverstone) and Earl Bamber, as they slot into Porsche’s third-entered 919 Hybrid LMP1 in Belgium – with Frederic Makowiecki and Richard Lietz running the number 92 Manthey car.

As a result, their regular WEC team-mates, Patrick Pilet and Michael Christensen, will handle the US role.

It was "an exceptional situation to which we've had to find a flexible solution", said Head of Porsche Motorsport, Frank-Steffen Walliser.
