Qualifying - Miami ePrix

It was generally sunny with a little bit of cloud cover over the Miami circuit for qualifying on Saturday. The session kicked off late after a delayed Free Practice session due to some issues with the circuit not being ready. At 8:30am, Walls were still being moved into place and surface cleaning had not yet been completed.

Four qualifying groups had been defined as follows:

1.Duval, Prost, Buemi, Trulli, Heidfeld

2.Bird, Chandhok, Speed, Abt, di Grassi

3.Liuzzi, Vergne, Sarrazin, Pic, Piquet

4.Alguersuari, d’Ambrosio, Senna, Felix da Costa, Duran

A valiant effort by Vergne put him on provisional pole. Team mate Scott Speed in his first Formula E qualifying session was held up on his hot lap and qualified 11th. Senna suffered a spin and qualified 17th just behind team mate Karun Chandhok. Charles Pic did not have a smooth session either as he popped in the escape path near the end of the straight (for some French fries…) In the end Vergne was the only driver to crack into the 1:05s just (1:05.953).
