It appears the second season of Formula E will feature eight constructors, as announced by Formula E Holdings.

The eight manufacturers selected by the FIA as a result of their analysis and tender proceedings are as follows:

Andretti (Formula E), Virgin Racing Engineering, Renault Sport (formerly e.Dams), Mahindra, ABT Sportsline, Motomatica, Venturi Automobiles and NEXTEV TCR (formerly China Racing).

Formula E CEO Alejandro Agag said:

“It’s fantastic for Formula E to have this many manufacturers wanting to be a part of the championship after just four races, and shows great confidence in the series.”

Homologation for next season is underway. Most of the cars' components will remain unchanged. However, as a cost limiting factor, the limiting scope for the manufacturers will be to provide powertrains only including; gearboxes, electric motors and their cooling components.
