McNish The Ambassador
Since his retirement late last year, Dumfries’ favourite son Allan McNish, embarked on a new path within the Audi Sport family. The three-time Le Mans winner and 2013 World Champion works hard with the team’s different departments, and is also involved in helping to develop the skills of new drivers that will feature in years to come.
He has also been in the USA, as Audi Sport’s Customer Racing division sees plenty of the R8 LMS Ultras competing, which includes the Flying Lizard Motorsports team that competes in the Tudor United SportsCar Series’ GTD category. He has also received the Seagrave Trophy and was also awarded the BRDC “Club des Pilotes” award at the WEC season opener this past weekend.
E-Racing’s Alex Goldschmidt sat down with the Monaco-based BBC F1 pundit, and discussed about how the role is progressing after a short time in, young drivers going to sportscars and the association with JOTA Sport in the European Le Mans Series to help new team members get up to speed.
