Bruno Senna will join Aston Martin Racing's lead pairing of Darren Turner and Stefan Mucke for the Le Mans 24 Hours in June.

Bruno’s desire to compete in the Brazilian Stock Car Championship (driving a Peugeot 408-bodied machine with GT Team Raizen) prevented him from committing to a full WEC season with AMR.

Senna was initially earmarked to join Aston Martin Racing’s third entry in the GTE Pro class, but team principal John Gaw explained that he would now be joining the WEC team leaders next month at Spa in addition to the La Sarthe classic.

"It was always planned that way, but we just hadn't announced it," team principal John Gaw told AUTOSPORT.

"Bruno, Darren and Stefan are the dream driver line-up from my point of view: Bruno was very strong last year."

While AMR was "still deciding" on the line-up for the single-entered Le Mans car in GTE Pro, Gaw insisted that it would consist of top-line drivers capable of challenging for victory. The second GTE Pro Vantage, (entered in conjunction with the Craft-Bamboo squad), will driven by Darryl O'Young, Fernando Rees and Alex MacDowall.
