A native of Rome and an avid skier as a youngster, Michela discovered her innate passion for motor-racing while at university. In 2006, Michela’s father Aldo (also known as “Baronio”, who won the Italian GT Championship title in a F430 Ferrari) decided to enrol her in a driving course with Mario Ferraris, who spotted Michela’s speed and instinctive car-control and convinced her father to let her race. The rest as they say is History. Her successes include:

2009: Cerruti-Ferraris obtained 4 class victories ahead of Honda and BMWs in the Italian Touring Endurance Championship (CITE).

2011 Superstars Series in Monza: Michela secured 2nd place in Race 1 and 1st place in in Race 2, becoming the first and only female racer ever to win the Series.

2012 Italian GT Championship: she won the Mugello race and became the first female driver to ever win the championship

2013 Italian GT Championship: she secured another podium at Mugello and a pole position in Spielberg in June, won the Imola Race.

2013: debuts in the Auto GP Championship on a 550cv single-seater car.

2013 Blancpain Endurance Series: she finished the 1000km of Nurburgring in second place of Pro-Am class

2014 Blancpain Endurance Series: she ends up on the podium at Silverstone during her first appearance in the championship of the year with team-mates Stefano Comandini and Eugenio Amos.

2014 Auto GP Championship: she becomes the first woman to win an international open-wheel in the race in Imola and secured two more podiums at Monza and Speilberg.

Soon after her Auto GP success, she was announced as Jarno Trulli’s team-mate in the new electric racing series, Formula E at the Global Launch event on 30th June 2014. The first race of the series was on 13th of September in Beijing.
