Danielle Crespo: How do you feel about your Qualifying result?

Fernando Rees: We didn't take a gamble - Should we stop and change the driver and I go back in the end? or do some more laps because the time is getting better lap after lap? We went with what we knew, and not gamble at all; stay on the track & follow the plan. It wasn't the best result, but it was what we knew for certain.

DC: Better to do something like that than take a risk?

FR: The guys at Ferrari, they gambled. They took two laps when it was very wet, and changed the driver right away, put the first driver back in at the very end and they got pole. You never know, when someone crashes, and they red flag it, something like that, if you're gambling you could end up in the back. It's easy to look back and say we could have done something better. Anyway I'm pleased, but I know the results don't reflect our true pace. Doesn't matter if it's staying safe for several laps.

DC: I had seen, on Instagram, you used the same line - this didn't show your true results - Do you do all your own social media?

FR: Yes - it's a lot of time, a lot of effort. I like doing it, there's a lot of benefit interacting with the people, they get to know me even better. Because when people write news usually, they don't talk to you directly, they're just talking about their perception of things that happen. Many times it creates something different - I prefer to tell my own story all the time. To make sure people know, no matter what they read, they know from me what I think. It started like that, to make sure people know what is my version of the story, and it developed into something that on the other side, people liked. It makes them feel closer to things that were happening behind the scenes.

There's value in it as well, some companies want me to show this product. It grows every day, and I like doing it.

DC : You post often enough that if its product placement, it's not so obvious. You have kind of a travel guide with you wherever you go (San Francisco)

FR: I went wherever people told me to, I didn't check a guide. I do it like this in the whole season. There are people from around the world who are following me. And then, it's nice, on a race weekend I get to meet them in person. I think there's a lot of value in it in terms of relationships, and getting connected to people. You never know who you're going to meet, what's the end result. I met people who I met as an instagram friend who became a business partner. There are things that are not 100% spontaneous.

DC: Do you have to run things you post by your manager to get permission?
