"Today’s race was very exciting. P1 is always the goal, but it is a great achievement to have got the pole position and earned the fastest time during the race. With just one race remaining, we want to win. The team had a fantastic drive from both Yacaman and Brundle.”

Yacaman, whose maturity in the race shows how he has improved in sportscars, was happy at the result that the team achieved, even with the incidents he was involved with giving OAK Racing more pressure to go for the win: “I am proud of Onroak Automotive engineering and OAK Racing for coming to Austin, their first time in America with the new Ligier JS P2. It was a shame to have got spun in the middle of the race after a restart, but we could only try to recover from there and we did so. Alex had an impressive drive into second place.”

Brundle was slightly disappointed in not being able to take victory and bettering his last performance in the United Sports Car Championship, but the performance was a good sign for all to be pleased about: ““We have to remember that at the start of the weekend, we didn’t have any clue how this was going to go with the new car and engine. We put the car on pole and finished P2 with the pace to win. Despite getting turned around during the race, we still managed to get on the podium.”

With Krohn Racing now becoming a customer team for the Ligier JSP2 for 2015, which will be powered by a Judd/BMW V8 engine, the new car will be one of the ones to watch for next season onwards.

OAK Racing will now be looking to go out on a high at Petit Le Mans, which takes place in the first weekend of October, which will firmly cement a good base for potential customer sales for next year and beyond.
