Bentley’s motorsport efforts are now expanding onto the Asian sportscar scene, as the race-winning Continental GT3 will be run by the Absolute Racing team, and makes its competitive debut at the Shanghai round of the GT Asia series from the 10th to 12th October.

The car was displayed at the recent Shanghai Supercar event on the 28th of September, and will be in the capable hands of Jean Karl Vernay, who is driving both in Shanghai and at the Macau GT race on the 13th to the 16th of November.

Bentley’s Chairman and Chief Executive, Wolfgang Dürheimer, who is looking forward to seeing the famed marque take victory over in one of their core markets, stated that developing “the programme further was the next step. We have been impressed with Absolute Racing’s operation in China, and I’m very pleased to have them join our expanding motorsport family.”

Absolute’s Director, Ingo Matter, was also looking forward to the task ahead, as the contract between both parties was signed at the iRacing Nürburgring 1000km race:

We are delighted to be taking the Continental GT3 racing in Greater China. Bentley has already shown that their car is a race winner in Europe and America, and we’ll be doing everything we can to score the same success in China.

"We’ve received our car and we’re already preparing for our first race in Shanghai, where we hope to compete with the fastest.
