Tick, Tick, Tick

Connor Buggy

Tick, Tick, Tick

The clock whispers, mocking my impatience, as I stare at the door

Just twenty minutes left

Just five minutes, four times more

Tick, Tick, Tick

My legs bounce up and down, and I play with my hair

Twenty minutes feels like an hour

I dream of the day outside of a classroom chair

Tick, Tick, Tick

Two minutes more

Two minutes more

Two minutes more

Tick, Tick, Tick

One by one they stand by the door

The teacher says “Wait until the bell rings!”

But they cannot take it anymore

Tick, Tick, Tick

Finally the sound was made

Loud and clear it rang and rang

But my happiness eventually begins to fade

Tick, Tick, Tick

Onto the next class as I scurry to take a seat

A new bell has rung

With a new clock to be beat

Tick, Tick, Tick

I'm back where I began

The clock whispers, mocking my impatience, as I stare at the door

Just twenty minutes left

Just five minutes, four times more
