Time Travel

George Pecherek

Today I was watching TV. Then something fell out of the sky and smashed it. There was only one way to solve this: it was a time machine. I hopped in, flipped switches, pushed buttons and pulled levers. Off I went. Then, I arrived and I opened the door. I saw the broken bits of a TV and saw someone running to a door. All I can say is “Oops.”

Autumn Anxiety

Giuseppe Maranto

Today is another typical sunrise of autumn. The birds chirping, the squirrels sprinting towards an acorn, the leaves getting separated from the branches of an oak tree. But that’s a different environment compared to our household. She splurts commands while she is cooking yolks, he sips on his daily dose of coffee as he looks down towards the newsprint, and I’m picturing in my head about when it will happen. Maybe now, maybe soon, or maybe never.
