34 WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 2017 appointments & management SWAN calls for women participation in politics Feyisayo Popoola T hE Society of Women Accountants of Nigeria has called for more participation of women in leadership, management and politics. Speaking at the investiture of a new chairperson and swearing in of SWAN executive council in Lagos on Monday, the Chairman of Access Bank Plc, Mrs. Mosun Belo-Olusoga, tasked women to play more active role in politics and leadership. Belo-Olusoga, while sharing leadership tips to female executives, urged them to take up executive roles to end the problem of women marginalisation. According to her, since nothing comes on a platter of gold, women should not expect to get to positions of authority by sitting back at home. “You cannot just sit back in your houses and complain that women are not well represented in politics or in executive roles. Do you expect men to come and drag you from your houses? Get up and work for what you want,” she stated.
