Taronica Reed born on Jan 7th, is an American
singer, songwriter, dancer and actress. Born and raised
in Dallas, Texas she began singing and dancing as a
child with her cousins at family gatherings. She then
graduated to opening up for popular artist such as
Trina, Ginuwine, Avant andRasheeda. Taronica’s family
always knew she would be a star one day performing
in front of many on the big stage. Reed names Michael
Jackson as her major musical influence and idol. She
admires Destiny Child as “all-around entertainers” and
Whitney Houston whom she said “Inspired her to
consistently practice vocal training to better her craft “.
Her other musical influences include TLC, Mary J Blige
, Missy Elliot, 2Pac, and Prince. Her work includes
elements from R&B, Hip-Hop and Pop. Taronica’s style
is most recognizable for her sultry vocals mixed with
gritty southern hooks on top colorful tracks. Her style
is a prime illustration of Pop, in that it focuses on
the contemporary styles of Soul and Hip-Hop and it
sends out a deeper message as opposed to common
Pop music. The majority of Taronica’s music is greatly
influenced by her beliefs and life experiences.
Taronica’s highly acclaimed debut album
“Ladies Room” was released late 2011 and the lead
singles “TREAT ME GOOD” and “DATS RIGHT”
earned her featured spots on Dallas’s leading Hip Hop
and R&B radio stations 97.9 The Beat and K104 FM
radio. Her follow up EP Titled “Love Sick” ,gives her
audience sexy tracks like “ Love on the Moon” and
“Wake Up” which showed her versatile writing style
,which placed her in a class all by herself away from
the usual DFWmusic. Taronica embarks on a road to
philanthropy by donating 50% of her sales for her single
“Wake Up” to the charity Keep a Child Alive
foundation on Reverb Nation. This foundation is dedicated to providing life-saving HIV treatment, care,
nutritious food, support services and love to children
affected by HIV in Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa,
Uganda and India. Her essential philosophy is branded
with hard work, giving back, and building up the
world’s community.
