The month of June is such a celebration! Finally - warm weather, outdoor cooking, days in the park and the MISS USA® Pageant! 51 of the most confidently beautiful women will travel to Baton Rouge, Louisiana and compete for the most prestigious title in the USA! MISS USA will celebrate 62 years of crowning glory! The women that cross this stage cross many stages in their lives. They will learn amazing confidence and superior strength. The contestants, like all women will struggle with good days and bad days, insecurities accompanied with excitement and pride.
I think at one moment or another in many young women’s lives they wonder what it would be like to be one of the beautiful girls with a state proudly draped acrossed them on a runway in a beautiful gown and fierceness in their stride. The interesting thing is, many young women that could see themselves on this stage, crown and all have probably been told while on an elevator are in the mall that they look like a young lady that would be MISS USA! Sadly most girls shrug it off as an impossible endeavor even though the compliment may have given them the fortitude to check out a website or a facebook page and possibly hit the "enter now" button. What holds them back? I wish every young woman that considered the possibility would just DO IT! I did and it cultivated my life beyond measure. Heck, many young women that never dreamed they would cross a stage at MISS USA are in Baton Rouge right now living a dream they never would unless they took that chance!
I have witnessed firsthand lives changing in an instant and pathways of opportunity unfolding in more directions many young women never dreamed possible. It is such an honor to meet these confidently beautiful women. I simply encourage any young lady that has thought about it to just do it! It's an experience and an award with value that can't be calculated. Grab your family and loved ones, grill out and tune in to the 2014MISS USA® Pageant , June 8th, on NBC! It's going to be HOT!
