Discrimintation &

Immigration

America is growing due to the rapid growth of immigrants coming to America. Immigrants from around the world are coming to America in search of an adventure, jobs, or even a new life. They are coming to America in search of these opportunities but some of them only get discrimination. Some of them are treated unfairly just because they are not a U.S citizen. America doesn’t seem to like differences.

It is very unfair that immigrants are treated unfairly than U.S born citizens just because they look different. They have also established the “Chinese Exclusion Act”, which severely slows down Chinese immigration. The government thinks that there are too many Chinese immigrants in the U.S so they slowed down Chinese immigration by denying their U.S citizenship.

When the government denies the Chinese citizenship it is just like segregation. They are not giving the Chinese what they want simply because they are different. The country is large enough to hold many people so the government should allow the Chinese their U.S citizenship.

They do not deserve to be excluded from great opportunities or a new life in America.

They should be able to come to America worry free without the government stopping them and telling them that their request for U.S citizenship has been denied. Not only the Chinese but Italians are hated by Americans. They faced extreme racism and hatred. It got so bad that there was violence. They are seen as “non-white”. Immigrants should not have to go through this. They have not done anything wrong. Why can’t we accept change and difference?
