Method: In the descriptive study, without making reference to sampling, entire pupils in an primary school were involved in the study. Data were collected through a socio-demographic data form, Self- Assessment Pain Scale (SAPS), Faces Pain Rating Scale and Strength and Difficulties Questionnaire- SDQ) Findings: A total of 354 primary school pupils aged 7–12 years participated in the study. The mean age of pupils was 8.07±1.26 years . The bag weight/ body weigh ratio of 83.6 %of pupils was 0.11 and 56.8% of pupils had pain associated with carrying schoolbag. When the pain scale score averages were compared, it was seen that; the score averages of girls (6.5 ±6.8 [4(2-10)]) as compared with that of boys (4.7 ±6.0 [3 (1-6)]) and of those pointing out schoolbag as the reason of pain (6.3 ±6.6 [4 (2-9)]) as compared with that of other group(4.8 ±6.3 [2(1-6)]) were higher and statistically more significant (p Keywords: School Bag, Musculoskeletal Pain, Primary School Children Congress Topics: Globalization in Nursing: Education, Migration, Workforce 43 |
