Stoyan Halkaliev NursIT Institute GmbH Pfalzburger Str. 71A Berlin, DE [email protected] SMART ERECRUITING OF FOREIGN NURSES USING INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES One of the biggest challenges for care is, without a doubt, the increasing shortage of skilled nursing professionals. For many years, nursing staff have been recruited from various countries. However, these projects are not always successful. The greatest hurdles are certainly the language skills, which for legal reasons have to be at least a language level B2. In addition, the different culture, a different nursing organization and an uncertainty in the nursing documentation increase the likelihood of project to fail. The University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE), the NursIT Institute and Start Medicare are taking new innovative approach. With the help of the smart nursing expert software CareIT Pro, an automatic analysis of the nursing documentation, diagnoses and interventions takes place in the UKE. The system creates a nursing requirement catalog, which is transferred and integrated into the training in the nursing universities in the home country. Nursing language training is conducted up to level B2 in home country and supported by eLearning. The nurses in education use the same nursing documentation software and are trained to the exact needs and specialties of the individual health care facilities. This way the expectations on both sides are accurately managed, which simplifies the migration and integration process. In this lecture, we will present the challenges, the technological possibilities and successes from the first projects in the Philippines.
